Preparation of a deer tolerant Hummingbird Garden

Plant Bambi image painfully through a garden in the minds of most people in the suburbs and they COO of pleasure in the thought of Mother Nature gracing with his presence. Mention the deer of a gardener, however, often get a decidedly different reaction.

As cute as can be, deer have a place right along with moles, rabbits and grubs in the minds of people who spend hours in planting a beautiful garden. The word deer could well be an acronym for Food rabidly destructive entity. If the plant, they will come. If the plant with the intention of attracting something benign, they will come even faster. What attracts a child often appeals to one that is the crux of the dilemma for those who wish to attract hummingbirds.

The good news is that there are solutions that will help you attract a bug cute selectively without the other. All you have to decide exactly how far you want Bambi to stay.

Finally, choosing deer tolerant flowers that hummingbirds enjoy, but only deer dine in when stressed by habitat loss or hunger. There are even some varieties that appeal to hummingbirds, but they represent less than an invitation to remarkably discerning palate deer below.

Ultimately, remember that deer tolerant is the same as resistant water. It is not a guarantee. When stressed, hungry, desperate or sick deer can and will eat almost any plant is not poisonous to get by.
